Feed Your Mind and Body

Each Semester at Oxbow is unique, and our students are always engaging in exciting activities and field trips. Extracurricular opportunities at Oxbow have included visits to museums and artist studios, camping trips, hiking, biking, kayaking, volunteering at a local pet shelter, surfing, gardening, and learning how to make wood fired pizza. Each semester students have the opportunity to propose and organize new activities, clubs, and social events.


Field Trips

Field trips are an important part of the Oxbow curriculum and all of our art and academic courses include exciting trips and adventures. Recently students have gone on the following class field trips:

  • California Academy of Sciences
  • Green String Farm
  • di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art
  • Open Field Farm
  • Oakland Museum of California
  • de Young Museum
  • San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA)

Outdoor Adventures

Oxbow also offers a variety of adventures outside of class time, giving students the opportunity to explore CA and make their experience even more memorable. Past adventures have included:

  • Surfing
  • Camping trips
  • Overnight trip to Pinnacles National Park
  • Beach Day at Tennessee Valley in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area

Co-Curriculars

Oxbow students earn one semester of physical education credit during their semester with us for participating in our co-curricular activities.

Social Life

When on campus students enjoy down time and lots of opportunities for a vibrant social life. Students and faculty plan social events throughout the semester. Social events have included:
