Lucinda Gold

Summer Printmaking

Lucinda (Lu) (they/them) earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology at the University of California Santa Cruz in the spring of 2021. They grew up in East Los Angeles and in high school began taking courses at Art Center College for design-where they fell in love with large-scale mixed media drawing and printmaking. Their additional pursuits in zine and bookmaking led them to produce and publish a 40-page final undergrad project which was showcased alongside large-scale drawings and prints at Fabricating Solace, the 35th annual Irwin Scholarship exhibition, which showcases the work of a select group of 12 UC students. While pursuing their undergraduate degree, they completed a UC course and residency at the Art Mill center for creative sustainability in the Czech Republic, and a course at Geidai, Tokyo Institute for Arts. This year they are thrilled to aid students in finding and exploring whatever medium amplifies with their individuality most!
