Megan Broughton

Megan (she/her) is an OS15 alumnx, a former Oxbow Alumnx Teaching Assistant, and the school's previous Residential Life Advisor. She grew up in Los Angeles County participating in youth arts programs for visual and performing arts. She earned a BFA in Art from CalArts and has held residencies at The Earthfire Institute in Tetonia Idaho, The Can Serrat International Arts Center in Barcelona Spain, and The Arctic Circle in Svalbard Norway. She is the cofounder of the literary arts journal Two if By Sea and her writing has been featured in FANZINE, Enclave, and Entropy, where she is a Contributing Editor. She is the founder of The Oxbow School’s After School Art Program for local middle school students in Napa’s After Class Enrichment program, a co-founder of School of Now which reinvents spaces for learning and exchange, and was a founding instructor at Evelyn Serrano’s NOMAD Lab (awarded The John Anson Ford Human Relations Award from the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission for exemplary practice and exceptional leadership in human relations work). She has taught with programs including the CalArts Community Arts Partnership, the California State Summer School for the Arts, Can Serrat, and NOMAD Lab. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and she is a member of the California Society of Printmakers and the Northern California Women’s Caucus for Art.
