Melody (she/they) is an artist, teacher, and performer and joins Oxbow faculty this year to lead the New Media studio. She has an MFA from CalArts in Experimental Animation and a Bachelor’s in Music from Rice University, and has worked for many years in Los Angeles, notably with the experimental creative studio Electronic Countermeasures. Melody loves to work in both the practical and the conceptual, and is interested in both the relationship of tech to traditional media as well as its dissolution. In collaboration with Oxbow’s Humanities teacher, she seeks to bridge the historical and literary with that of cross disciplinary exploration, sensory knowledge, and media thinking.
